Atrapos: Quickstart

Atrapos is a mythic fantasy roleplaying game of Odyssey, where a group of ill-fated survivors of a terrible war venture home, struggling against both their own guilt and the wrath of the Gods everlasting.

Atrapos uses the same engine as Inevitable, and is a play-to-lose game that sets its heroes against the divine pantheon, filled with rage for the characters' crimes during the Sack of Aedica. This rules light system focuses on epic heroes, epic deeds and escalating stakes. 

Atrapos is inspired by the Homeric Epics and is infused with its authors’ all-consuming love for Ancient Greece mythology. Through its setting and scores of expository verses of a similar in-universe epics, it creates its own Iliad, allowing players to craft their own Odyssey as these heroes venture homeward and reckon with the Gods’ contempt. 

In this free quickstart, players reckon with The Stormlord, God of Seas, Storms and Love, while attempting to find a ship to escape the isle of Masevos. The rules for Atrapos are so simple that we managed to fit them into a A4 quickstart "beakzine" booklet, which you can print out at home or use digitally. It comes with six characters, a multi-session adventure and all the rules you need to play.
